The "Tinzeltag" is the most important
traditional festival dedicated to children. It is held on the last day of
Carnival. The boys go to church wearing on their heads peacock feathers and
long colourful ribbons. The girls instead wear a wreath of flowers and a white
apron. They all go to church to attend Mass which is celebrated for them. After
Mass, they all run to the streets where teachers and parents throw them candies,
while children in turn throw confetti and sugared almonds. Then the children
form a line and go around the "Tiergarten" (it was once a lawn that
stretched between the municipality and the Raiffeisen bank) singing happily.
