In Madonna di Campiglio takes place, for more than 20 years, an original moment of "revival" of the Viennese atmosphere, including historical re-enactment and a cheerful ambiance. During the event it will be normal to meet the Habsburg court in the squares and along the streets of Campiglio. It will be also possible to watch the passage of the Hussar on horseback, to see a ringing troika with ladies in costume, and meet skiers in costumes, but also to taste the local delicacies, or to attend a fancy dress ball in the prestigious Salone Hofer with the Hapsburg Court, among ladies in their sumptuous evening dresses and knights in shining uniform dancing waltzes and polkas by Strauss.
Madonna di Campiglio, in the last decades of the XIX century, actually hosted on two occasions, in 1889 and 1894, the Habsburg imperial court and other distinguished representatives of the European aristocracy.
In particular the Princess Elizabeth of Wittelsbach, better known as "Sissi" and the Emperor Francis Joseph left in Campiglio vivid memories during their stay, in which they alternated walking towards the peaks of the Brenta, accompanied by local guides, and sumptuous banquets in the halls of the “Stabilimento Alpino Des Alpes”.
