DISCOVER TRENTINO-ALTO ADIGE

The largest abbey in South Tyrol is one of the most important monuments of the IsarcoValley.

The structure is mostly open to the public: you can visit the church in late Baroque style with the famous paintings by Matthäus Günther; the Gothic cloister with frescoes of the fourteenth and fifteenth century; the tombstone of the poet troubadour Oswald von Wolkenstein; the well of miracles; the chapel of San Vigilio; the library with precious manuscripts; the art gallery which houses an important collection of Gothic painting (Friedrich Pacher, Marx Reichlich, Andreas Haller) and the chapel of St. Michael better known as Castel Sant'Angelo Angelo, thanks to the resemblance to a Roman building.

Do not forget to visit the beautiful and well preserved gardens and cellars. The monks themselves devote part of their activities to their vineyards and wine making and to the preparation of delicious food.
