The Adamello Brenta Natural Park is the largest protected area in Trentino, located in the western Trentino, with its 620.51 sq. km includes the Adamello-Brenta mountain ranges, separated by Val Rendena and included in the Val di Non, Val di Sole and Giudicarie. In the area there are 48 lakes and the Adamello glacier, one of the largest in Europe.
It has been declared Geopark by UNESCO and includes several features, such as:
- A territory with an extraordinary geological heritage
- Many geological sites of particular importance for their scientific quality, beauty and educational value
- Numerous archaeological, ecological, historical and cultural sites
- a policy of sustainable development implemented through the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism action programme
- An environmental education activity, training and development of scientific research in Earth Sciences
- activities aimed at promoting sustainable geotourism.
There are numerous activities that take place in the Park each year.
